About Our Staff
Senior Pastor david pool
David has been in ministry for over 25 years. He served with Campus Crusade for Christ for eight years, discipling and training college students in Oklahoma, Russia, and Colorado. He and Vel came to Powell where he has served at Grace Point since 2004. Vel is the love and spice of his life. She also served with Campus Crusade for Christ, and she enjoys meeting with women over coffee, times of prayer, and reading her Bible and nonfiction. Wyoming has been a wonderful place to raise their four children (now grown) and they love the remarkable people of Grace Point! David is passionate about the Bible’s relevance to our lives and our world, and he strives to bring life-impacting sermons on Sunday mornings. He loves theology and apologetics and believes we must winsomely promote the gospel in everyday life. There is nothing that thrills him more than seeing people know Christ in a deeper way and use their gifts to advance Christ’s Kingdom.
associate pastor jon allen
Jon started in ministry right here at Grace Point (then FBC) in 2009 as Children’s and Administrative Pastor. He and his lifetime partner and love, Mary, felt God’s call to serve at Camp Bethel in the Bighorn Mountains and began there in December of 2013. They served there until May of 2017 when they felt God’s call to rejoin their church family again here at Grace Point. Jon and Mary are excited to be home here in Powell and with their amazing church family. Jon and Mary have four very loved children: Ashley (Jeremiah), Kelsey (Josh), Lydia and Coby. They also have seven grandchildren who are cherished as the gifts from God that they are. In his spare time, Jon enjoys the outdoors by hunting, fishing and anything else that might draw him outside and Mary enjoys anything relating to her family. They both share a passion for shepherding families in their pursuit of the Lord.
CHILDREN’s MINISTRY DIRECTOR Staci Legler
In 2013, Staci began to work formally in children’s ministry as the Children’s Director at Redland Baptist Church in Maryland. Prior to that she was involved in many different roles of children’s ministry such as VBS director, AWANA leader, and Sunday school teacher. During her time on staff in Maryland, she followed God’s calling to a mission trip in Morocco. While there, she knew He was calling her to further work with children. Following His direction she began teaching at a Christian school where she stayed until the summer of 2019. At that time God prepared the way for her family to move to Wyoming. This was a desire shared by not only her husband Matt, but also her children, Sydney, Luke, and Mackenzie. The Lord richly blessed them as they transitioned from life in the suburbs of our nation’s capital to rural, small town life. Though the mission field has changed somewhat, Staci’s heart remains stirred by the Lord for children and their families. In the summer of 2023, Grace Point welcomed Staci onto our staff as the Children’s Ministry Director. Her new ministry encompasses children from birth through 4th grade. Ministry looks different from day to day. Sometimes it is praying with a child who is just beginning to understand the love of Christ and some days it’s sharpening colored pencils. Staci counts it all as joy to serve the Lord. In her spare time, you can find her frequently with her family playing games, watching a good show, or roping them into a project that begins with … “I was thinking …”
